A Rose by Any Other Name…

I’m happy with my name. It’s kind of unique and people usually remember it. I’ve been told it sounds like a good Director’s name, which is a role I enjoy playing. All that said, I can’t help but wonder how I would have turned out if it were different.

My Mom wanted to call me Dove. I know a Dove. He’s a great guy. But growing up as a Mangiacake in a mostly Italian/Portuguese/Jamaican neighbourhood, I probably would have gotten teased a fair bit.

Dad says he put his foot down and I ended up Perry.
