The idea that things should make us happy is a myth that continually disappoints us and yet we still buy into it. After all, who doesn’t want easy access to feeling happy?
As I see it, the real opportunity is to discover and pursue fulfillment, which will deliver purpose and happiness along the way. Then, in the absence of happiness, we still have a sense of direction to keep us balanced.
