One of the best things I have done in the last couple years is start a Mastermind Group.
If you have never heard of the concept I strongly advise you to check it out. Here’s a great article to start with.
In a nutshell, a mastermind group is a group of several equally capable people committed to helping each other towards professional and or personal goals. The level of expertise and involvement depends on the group however, in almost all cases, members meet regularly to act as a sounding board and personal board of directors for each other.
The popular version of the concept comes from Napoleon Hill, who wrote Think and Grow Rich. Hill spent 25 years following around the most successful business people of his time with the purpose of distilling what common traits and behaviours could be emulated by others. One of the key discoveries was to surround yourself with people as or more successful than yourself.
In many ways Hill’s method of ‘thinking like the rich’ is a predecessor to the recent phenomenon The Secret. The secret being The Law of Attraction, which states that like attracts like and therefore your thoughts manifest your reality. So have an abundance attitude and think positive!
An effective Mastermind group can go a long way to helping reinforce this idea and practice. I’ll leave it to you to do the research.
